This is Sparky, a Forgotten Paws rescue dog.  He is a very patient and sweet boy.  We are assuming that he is about 3 years old.  Forgotten Paws saved him from a high-kill shelter where he was dumped with his sister.  The rescue got his sister a week before him, because the shelter would not allow them to take them at the same time, so he had to stay there for a week by himself!  Poor baby!

Sparky has an injury in his left eye, but it doesn’t slow him down, and he can still see just fine.

This is Sparky, our cat Alex, and a previous foster dog and it shows how well he gets along with cats and other dogs.  He is also with kids because we bring him to my school and he is very sweet.  He doesn’t bark at the kids at school, and he let’s them all come and pet him and give him love.

Sparky is on my pouf, he really loves a big dog bed to sleep on.  Sparky is also house trained and does very well on walks.

Look how cute he is.  He doesn’t want to get out of bed!  He is a very quiet dog, but also sometimes playful.

Sparky would make a great friend and you should adopt this loving boy.  His tummy is really soft and looks like a watercolor painting.

A Fieldtrip to Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary

Last Friday I went on a fieldtrip with my mom to the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary.  We went there to see 13 year old Lucy, who's been in the shelter since she was 1 year old.  Turns out, she has been adopted by the shelter, and she is very well taken care of.  She was inside because of the rain, so I had to zoom in to see her.

Here's a better picture of her.  Isn't she beautiful?

While I was there, I thought I should take a tour, so I could post the other animals here for you to see.  Mary is one of the volunteers and was very nice to us while giving the tour.  Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is all volunteers.  It is a No-Kill shelter and they keep the dogs and cats for as long as it take for them to get adopted, and they are VERY well taken care of.

This little puppy came in with his brother.

This is his brother.  He looks sort of scared but is actually playful with his brother.

This is Brittany.  We don't know her age, but she very beautiful and I'm sure she would make an amazing pet!

This is Mimi!  She is very lovely!

Quila is 5 years old and knows the command SIT really well.  She loves to go for rides in cars!

This is Rosie.  She is very excited to meet new people.

Rosie's buddy is named Mylo.  Mylo is the one in the back.  He is also excited to have company!

The great thing about Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is that all the dogs have little heated rooms for if they are cold, and a run that even has a misting spray for when it's really hot.

Since it was raining (really hard) we didn't get to see all the dogs, but I'm sure they are all wonderful!

Some dogs, like Skippy and this little white one (whose name I can't remember) were too scared to be out in the storm, so the volunteers brought them inside.

That was just the dogs!  There are tons of cats, and they are all amazing.  Stay tuned because my next posts will be all about the cats!

If you follow me by email, you can be the first to know every time I post something new!

Gracie's Unique! ADOPTED!!!

This is Gracie.  She is 5 months old, and she loves her toys.  We have been fostering her since last Saturday.  She is still getting used to being around kids, but she is making so much progress.  She is snuggling on my lap as I write this!

Gracie is very playful.  She loves to chase her ball, and is even learning how to bring it back.  She enjoys big bones and ropes.  She is really smart, and learns commands really fast.  We are working on sit, come and leave it.

Gracie loves to smell the flowers...

...very deeply!

We think that Gracie might have been dumped at the shelter by a breeder for a "defect" in her eye.  Look closely at her left eye and you can see that part of her iris is white.  We think it makes her look beautiful and unique.  She's one of a kind!

My name is Leah.  I love animals.  I've been fostering dogs and cats all my life.  My family and I volunteer at 2 animal rescues, Forgotten Paws and Aussie and Others Rescue.  I put a link for these to rescues and other rescues on the bottom right corner, so make sure to visit their webpages too.  My blog is about helping animals get a perfect forever home.  I will be talking about my visits to rescue events, animal shelters, and the dogs I foster.
